Must do things during Kasi temple visit

Kasi Temple Visit

Most of the people born in India wanted to visit Kasi atleast once in their lifetime.

But it is not easy for everyone to go there unless one have lots of punya (good deeds) and they need to visit many other sacred pilgrim's to be lucky enough to visit Kasi.

Kasi Temple

Things to be done to get the Tirtha yatra phala (Benefit of Pilgrimage)

There are four important things to be done in Kasi as said in Kasi Kanda.

1)Ganga Thirtha Snanam(Ganga Bath) Manikarnika

Ganga flows in different places in our country but the Ganga that flows in Kasi is considered auspicious and in Kasi it is Manikarnika that is important.

Doing Ganga bath removes all our Sins and is the first important thing to be done.

Ganga Bath

Bath in Ganga

In Kasi we can take the Ganga bath at anytime in a day, be it a morning, evening or night and there is no need to see any auspicious timings to take the bath.

Bath must be taken at our residence prior to a dip in Ganga.

Take 3 dips in Ganga and do sankalpa (need to say the place ,time, our details and why we are taking the dip).

Keeping the River clean is our prime responsibility

So Remember not use Soaps and Shampoo at the river and should not use the river water for washing clothes etc.Plastics should not be thrown into the river.Keep the river pollution free.

2)Vishwanatha Darshan

After the Ganga bath we should visit Lord Kasi Viswantha's temple.
Do the pradakshana(go round the temple)
Do Abhishekam
Offer Flowers
Offer Naivedyam(fruits or prepared food)
Offer prayers.

Kasi Vishwanath

3)Listen to the stories of Lord Shiva

As along as we are in Kasi we must listen to Lord Shiva's stories by any guru or listen to any pravachan (stories of gods) available in mobile phone,by doing so we will always be in union with Lord Shiva keeping the other worldly affairs aside.

Listen to Shiva's story

4) Donate

It is one of the important thing that we need to do in Kasi, donate as much as you can and never hesitate to do that. The donation can be in any form such as food, clothes, money etc to the people who needed them.
Many great people roam in disguised forms,so if our offering reaches some one like that then we are so blessed.
If we do one good thing done in Kasi it gives us one crore times punya.

Donate to Sadhus

Make sure that atleast the above four things are done during the Kasi visit which are easy.

Paths of liberation in different yugas It is given in Vishnu purana that we can attain liberation by Mediation in Krita Yuga,Yagna's in Treta yuga,Ritual worship in Dwapara yuga and Chanting of Lord's name in Kali yuga . Qualities of People in this Kali yuga Narada Muni in Bhagavatam describes that People in Kali yuga  Living only to please their senses. Have no truthfulness, tapas, mercy,Dhana guna(Donating nature) Always dominated by Anger,Selfishness, ego etc  All the above qualities are influenced by Kali Easiest way to get rid of this Kali All we need to do is to repeat the name of Lord.So simple right.. But it's not that easy for everyone to chant God's name, all we need to have is 'punya' (good karma).Just look at ourselves, how frequently do we remember him?  We hardly think of him..it is because of our works that dominates us,we...
